BrN Engineering is pleased to announce the staff addition of Thomas Childs as Senior Project Manager. Thomas has more than 19 years experience in electrical engineering design, lighting and lighting controls design, project management and construction coordination covering a wide variety of civic, higher education, commercial and health care projects. Thomas’ design expertise includes power distribution, fire alarm systems, nurse call systems, lighting controls for energy management and LEED compliance, and lighting design for interior, exterior and sports arena lighting.

BrN congratulates Bryan Boeholt, PE on his appointment to the City of Seattle Construction Code Advisory Board (CCAB) for another term in the electrical engineer's position. CCAB is a volunteer board appointment whose members are comprised of professionals in all facets of the development, design and construction industries. The board's role is to offer professional guidance and input into the development of Seattle Building Codes under the supervision of the Department of Planning and Development (DPD).

BrN Engineering is pleased to announce the staff addition of Berne Thorpe, PE as Vice President. Berne has over 30 years experience in design, production, and coordination of electrical plans and specifications in the industries of Civic/Public/Government, Healthcare/Lab/R&D, Multifamily/Mixed Use, Commercial/Retail, Education/Institutional Facilities and Petroleum. His previous experience has included positions ranging from Project Engineer to Electrical Department Manager with direct project management responsibilities for multiple large projects. Examples of his previous work include Amgen-Helix (120,000 sq ft combined) and KAUST (King Abdullah University of Science & Technology - over 5 million sq ft). His broad understanding of the electrical design and construction process strengthens BrN’s commitment to providing real-world engineering solutions for their clients that are rooted in life safety, common sense, and constructability.
